49er, 49erFX, Nacra 17
Oman is set to host a fleet of 148 for the 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 World Championships, and the action will begin in Mussanah, with 29 countries. The first time in the history of the event to be held in Asia, and the Gulf nation won the bid to host it in November 2020.
The Nacra 17 fleet includes 2019 world champions Maelle Frascari and Vittorio Bissaro of Italy and Olympic silver medalists John Gimson and Anna Burnet of Great Britain.
A showdown in the 49erFX class is expected between world gold medalists Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze from Brazil and European champions Emma Siewers and Odile van Aanholt from the Netherlands.
Teams Łukasz Przybytek and Paweł Kołodziński from Poland and Austrians Benjamin Bildstein and David Hussl participated in the Olympics and are among the best names in the 49er class, along with British duo and former world number one James Peters and Fynn Sterritt.
