La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec: 33 Skippers Take Part in the 1900-Mile Race
The 54th edition of the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec will kick off on August 27 from Caen (Calvados) for the 33 sailors competing this year. On the menu for the premier race of the French Elite Ocean Racing Championship, of which Paprec has become the Title Partner: three committed legs leading from Caen to Piriac-sur-Mer (Loire-Atlantique), via Kinsale (Ireland) and Roscoff in Morlaix Bay (Finistère). Once again, the strong line-up will include 11 rookies and 6 foreign sailors.
A flagship event on the Figaro Beneteau circuit and the French Elite Ocean Racing Championship of which it is the epilogue, the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec, which is contested on equal terms aboard Figaro BENETEAU 3s, has seen the emergence of a number of ocean racing legends over the years. With a coefficient of 5, the highest in the calendar, each year it crowns the sailor who has shown the most daring, courage, talent and consistency.
