The Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix presented by P&O Marinas marks the 6th stop on SailGP’s record 13-event Season 4 calendar, sitting alongside iconic venues such as Saint-Tropez, San Francisco, Chicago, Halifax and Abu Dhabi. The spectacular cityscape of Dubai will provide the ultimate backdrop to the league’s fast and furious racing action when the event takes place on December 9-10. Here’s five reasons you can’t miss SailGP’s long-awaited return to Dubai.
Watch SailGP’s cutting-edge F50s fly above the water
SailGP’s 10-strong fleet of hydrofoiling catamarans, which fly above the water at speeds approaching 100 km/h, are even more impressive to watch in person. With Mina Rashid promising a tight racecourse and plenty of mark roundings, Dubai is set to host two days of adrenaline-fueled action. Ahead of official racing kicking off at 14:00 GST on Saturday, December 9, fans will have plenty of time to spot the F50s undertaking warm up laps when all-important training begins on Monday, December 4.
Cheer on the best sailors in the world
From New Zealand’s Peter Burling to Emirates GBR’s legendary Ben Ainslie, the most decorated Olympic sailor in history, SailGP is bursting with the best sailors in the world. With the F50s racing just meters from the shoreline, fans will have plenty of opportunity to spot the biggest personalities in the sport as they whistle past. There’ll even be the chance to spot the athletes in the race village as they celebrate (or commiserate) after racing.
Experience SailGP’s true Dubai-style luxury hospitality
SailGP has teamed up with the iconic Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Dubai Nikki Beach to present the Premier Waterfront Grandstand. Experience the thrills, drama and excitement of the world’s most exciting racing on water, mixed with the high energy and signature atmosphere of the famous Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Dubai. This exclusive experience positions guests just meters from the racecourse with access to a Nikki Beach lounge and live music from Nikki Beach Dubai’s resident DJs after racing.
Experience SailGP’s spectacular stadium racing
There are a variety of ticket options to suit all fans attending Dubai, with the F50 fleet flying at breathtaking speeds just meters from the Waterfront Grandstand. Located in SailGP’s official Race Stadium, the Waterfront Grandstand features big screens and accompanying live race commentary, plus access to food and beverage zones, and the fan shop for all the latest merchandise.
Bring your own boat for the best seat in the house
Fans bringing their own boats can expect exclusive viewing areas on the water with prime positioning at one of the turning gates. Receive access to the inner most edge of the public boating boundary and experience the speeds of the F50 catamarans like ever before!
